When I upload it to the host it will show my home page, but I can not click on the buttons to move around the site. When I click on the export to CSS and images an error pops up that says:
inner writeObjectValues exceptions backgroundVerticalPositions
I have checked all my buttons and they have a link too. In my viewing in IE the buttons do not work.
Another question to throw in: I would like to center the page in IE, but do not know how. Tried HTML setup.
Fireworks is not for building sites.
Fireworks is for designing your site, creating the graphics, and making a prototype. When you get to the point where you want to build your site, you should use either a text editor (since HTML is simply text) or an HTML authoring environment (such as Dreamweaver).
If you want to build a site, you really ought to know HTML and not depend on a program to produce something for you (especially one that is primarily for producing graphics). It's a bad idea to let programs do your thinking for you. They aren't that smart.
That said, Here's my list of resources.
Here's a book I like:
HTML, XHTML, and CSS, Sixth Edition (Visual Quickstart Guide) by Elizabeth Castro
It covers everything in small chunks and is light enough to carry around and read.

This one has a friendly tone, although it has lots of ads: Page Tutor
