import a single named cell, from excel into indesign

    Hoxolotl

I found out how to define name for cells in Excel and place those in indesign only works when there are at least 2 cells in the defined name.

Somehow  on the place / import options, single cells with a defined name in Excel don't show up.

Is there a way around this?

      Explanation:

I'm making catalogs wich often feature text that still needs to be edited and fluctuating pricelist.

The text and pricelists are made in excel. Sometimes I only need to place a single cell with the price.

All I do is place the excel cells into the indesign document.

To do this I assign names to the cells in excel as those files also get updated ( adding a row of cells happens quite regularly).

      In short short:

I can name define cell A1-> "thisItemA" in excel

thisItemA does NOT show up when place/importing/drop down cell range menu/ excel files into indesign

I can define cells B1:B2 -> "thisItemB" in excel

thisItemB DOES show up when place/importing/drop down cell range menu/ excel files into indesign

An explanation and a work around or better workflow would be welcome
