I work with a design agency that currently uses Edge Animate for building ad units.
From what I know, whenever a new version of Edge Animate comes out (or the app itself updates), if opening a project created with an older version, it will automatically be converted when saved in the newest format (updated structural changes to _edge and _edgeAction JS files; as well as using the latest of edge JS framework like edge.6.0.0.min.js would be replaced to say edge.6.0.1.min.js). Hope I am correct in assuming this.
So the question would be: if we have a couple of hundred of ad units, is there a way to basically update them automatically - like a batch script - to the newest format? (instead of opening each one and saving it)
As long as your adds do not break, no need to upgrade them.
Otherwise the only way I know is to open them. I do not think that you have a new folder created between 5.0 ad 6.0.
Not sure if there will be updated in the future. EA is at a stand still for now.
I think the issue is more about updates that will contain fixes/improvements for the Edge Animate framework. Not so worried that they will break, just worried about the pain of having to keep them up to date.
I hear you. I have over 700 comps and adding every day.
