I am having the same problem!
Please tell the OS you work on.
Do you experience this with all the PDF'?
Please check if Acrobat is updated to the latest patch. If not ,please try to do that.
If you are on windows ,you could try to repair Acrobat once.
I am using Windows 10 and am having the same problem. I have checked for updates and am current. I have also tried the repair option and it did not fix the problem.
I am trying to add a watermark with a two line watermark. I am putting the watermark at a 45 degree angle, opacity at 20%, watermark is behind document, and scale 81% relative. When it tries to save it the program crashes.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Same problem for me. I've tried multiple different files and get the "Acrobat has stopped working" error every time I try to add any kind of a watermark. I went the extent of trying not to adjust certain settings to see if that had any bearing. No luck. Then, I changed the order of when I put the settings in. Strange enough, when I got all the settings without text in the box, and added the text at the very end, it worked. Unfortunately, I've tried the same recipe again on other PDFs and cannot replicate the success. I'm still getting the crash.
64 bit Windows 10 and Acrobat DC Pro through a CC license.
I have exactly the same issue. Acrobat DC 15.009.20079 latest version no updates available.
Crashes on adding watermark. Sometimes I can successfully add the watermark by trying again but not often. Happens most of the time and with a large variety of documents. This is now holding up work and there is no reply from Adobe.
Win 8 / Acrobat DC via CC subs.
I believe I have corrected the issue.
I was entering Watermark in the Search Tool, this opens a dropdown menu. When adding a watermark by this method the system crashes just before completion Error Message "Adobe Acrobat DC has stopped working"
What works is the following
- Open the PDF.
- Select Edit PDF from the Tools Menu (right side)
- On the top menu select Watermark.
- All works OK now.
Thanks, that works!
This PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED. Issue with using Edit PDF is that it wants to read the text int he entire document, which is not what I want. This by itself crashes the Acrobat. I don't want to to use Edit PDF, because it wants to read entire document text.
But using search still crashes, Win 7 64-bit, Acrobat DC version 15.010.20060
