Very simple question: I'd like to replace some character(s) with a column break. However, when (in InDesign CS 5) I copy a column break symbol out of the text and paste it into the Change to field, it renders a ^p, which is obviously a line break. Equally, in GREP search, the same paste is interpreted as \r, which is a line break as well. (I guess that's a coding error, but that's not my concern here.) What do I have to put into the Change to field (in Find/Change–Text, not in Find/Change–GREP, preferably) to obtain a column break?
Thanks a lot.
Choose it from the @ symbol dropdown next to the field....
remaining question would be how did I not see this. Break Character > Column Break. Thanks Peter, also for your patience.
