Please follow the below steps.
> Create a new catalog
> Once Lightroom is launched, Click on File > Import from Another catalog
> Navigate to the location of the old catalog and try to import
> If successful, Relaunch Lightroom to check for the issue
Let me know if this helps.
You use one of your recent backups of your catalog file.
Thank you Mrinmay! Good advice but not successful. I was able to make a new catalog and open Lightroom. However, I was not able to Import the old catalog. Does that mean all the work I did that was not saved is gone?
Yes! Did that and was successful but now I cannot import the old catalog!
You may not be able to import the old (corrupt) catalog. I don't htink you will be able to use the old corrupt catalog.
If I were you, now that you have a working catalog, I'd immediately make another backup of it, using Lightroom, making sure that the "Test Integrity" box is checked.
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
Please follow Dj_Paige's suggestion and use any of the recent backup.
You will loose the only changes you made after taking the used backup catalog.
Thank you so much for the help! learning something new all the time! Now I will be much more vigilant about backing up! Phew!
BTW.... you guys are THE BEST!
I had exactly the same problem launching for the first time lightroom just after the 2015.3 update. It says the main catalog is corrupt, and so all the backups! This is strange to me. Because nothing was wrong with any of them, before the update.
I want to try reverting the update. But before of it, I'd like to know if you can suggest another way to fix the catalog. Yes, I've already tried to import to a new catalog, without success.
