Today my copy of Adobe InDesign has decided to crash. When I open the program it asks if I want to start Auto Recovery. Selecting 'Yes', 'No' or 'Cancel' crashes the software. I do not even know which file it hopes to recover.
I have attempted to remove the InDesign Recovery folder as suggested in the forum here but this does not seem to work.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled CS4 but this has not worked. Is there a way to do a full clean install (i.e: wipe all preferences etc and have everything start afresh) or has anyone had this issue before.
Currently using Mac OS X 10.11.1 and CS4 version 18.104.22.1682 (6060)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
CS4 is completely unsupported under 10.11.
You can try disabling auto hide for menu bars in the OSX system preferences but beyond that, I’m afraid you’re on your own.
Cheers Bob! That's great. I had auto-hide enabled for my menu and once I turned it off InDesign stopped crashing!
You're a star! I hope that this forum post will help others too.
