My inDesign, and only my inDesign application always crashes spontaneously during startup.

I have done all the things suggested in this fine help page

      • make sure inDesign is up to date
      • sign in and out of Creative Cloud
      • trouble shoot fonts

As another test, I created a mock user account on my Mac, logged out of Creative Cloud, and then logged in to Creative Cloud on the new space — and inDesign works.

So one presumes that there is software or a service on my computer that conflicts with InDesign CC. This is not very helpful as I would not know where to look for a culprit.

          Anybody have any ideas here?

(Possible conflicting applications: BitTorrent Sync; CraphPlan; DoublePlane; HubiC; LaCie Network Assistant; LaunchBar; MAMP PRO…???)

          Thanks

Have you unticked "Automatically hide and show menu bar" in El Capitan System Preferences under the General Tab?

              Yes that's it!

              I'm soooo grateful.

How did you cotton on to this problem/solution.

              THANK YOU
