Could you please try to reset Lightroom preferences by holding the shift + option key while launching Lightroom.
let us know if it helps.
Hi Sarika, I reset the LR preferences as advised. Sorry, problem persists with identical messge. What's also strange is that I can select a folder in the Navigator, right click on it and select "Import to this folder". I then get the above error message. I click "OK", after which the selected folder is selected for import - not the one indicated in the error message. So in essence, everthing seems to work fine - except this annoying error-messge every time during import.
Would you please check whether the error message persist if you work on a new catalog.
I am having the same issue since installing Standalone 6.3,On Mac 10.11.1 EL Capitan.
Resetting the preferences did not eliminate the message, other than this 6.3 is running well.
Using Finder/Explorer, check the file permissions on the destination folder. Make sure you have read and write privileges. OS upgrades and LR upgrades can sometimes cause problems here.
I think I found the problem!
I had changed the name of the folder within LR, using the normal process (right click folder in LR navigator; selecting "change name"; changing name). LR obviously had a problem with this since changing the name back in Mac Finder to its original name (the one displayed in the LR error message) and then manually searching for it in LR navigator solved the problem.
It's a bit strange anyway, since I changed names of many folders that way and none of it caused this problem.
I tried the identical name-change on this folder again in LR navigator and it causes the same problem again. So essentially it means that for whatever reason I can not change the name of that specific folder - neither inside LR navigator nor in Mac Finder to another name - it creates the described problem every time.
Your suggestion worked for me.
