Lightroom 6, the current standalone version, functions the same way as all standalone versions of Lightroom have in the past. Updates have included bug fixes and support for new cameras. But new features have always been reserved for an upgrade rather than an update. The creative cloud version of Lightroom is marketed to receive frequent feature updates. That's what those of us who have subscribed to the creative cloud purchased. You didn't purchase a version that entitles you to frequent feature updates. Just as it has always been in the past, it will be necessary for you to wait for the next upgrade (Lightroom 7) before you can expect feature updates. Nothing new. That's the way it has always been.
Thank you for the explanation.
Yes, that will be a tough issue since I have always purchased an "upgrade" from 1-5. When I purchased 6 I found no upgrade price and paid the full amount. Having just updated, I now see the added features, which is not what I have been used to seeing, and especially since I have never hesitated to upgrade. I suppose it is a bit much for me to see that now. I did notice that I am still breathing and my heart is still functioning too, so it can't be too bad. Actually, that's the way it has always been.
