I recently did a clean install of Windows 10, and one thing I haven't quite gotten sorted out yet is my CrashPlan backup. Sure enough, I managed to overwrite an important InDesign file that I should have saved-as. Is there any other way of recovering it? #Wailing #GnashingOfTeeth
Have you tried right-clicking the file in Explorer and choosing Properties, then the Previous Versions tab? This would work only if System Restore is active for the drive where your file is stored and there is a restore point after the original version was made, but before the overwrite.
Can't help now but I would never depend on a single back up. I love Dropbox's version control for things like this.
Wrote this up a while back but it still holds: Why I Always Work in a Dropbox Folder and Why You Should, Too!
