Well, it is either a problem with a model or a problem with a texture.
There is no easy fix, but you can try to make a copy of your 3d file and
remove models and textures until the problem goes away. Then you can
figure out which thing caused the problem. Once you know that, then
fixing it should be pretty easy.

With the default Adobe Director installation package you cannot import 3DS files.
You need an additional xtra to make that possible.

like 3d Studio Max or Maya and export it as w3d. Then you can import it
