Recently upgraded to After Effects CC 2015 (13.5.1) and now when I import an AI file into AE (as a composition, maintaining the layer size) the bounding box is actually larger than the AI layer. I talked with Adobe about this and they couldn't fix it. Anybody run into this as well and have any fix suggestions?
The size of the bounding box depends on the size of the lawyer including the size of any clipping masks. Without seeing your illustrator file in detail there's no way to know if the behavior is not as it should be. We just don't have enough details.
Here is the original illustrator file, the white being the artboard, the orange box being the object.
this is how it looks when imported into After Effects. you can see that the bounding box is extended past the sides and bottom.
i have tried this with several different objects and get the same result. The support tech at Adobe I talked to ran into the same issue, so it's now essentially a known "bug" at this point, I'm just wondering if anyone has figured out any workarounds.
