iPhoto import fails with 'Oops! An untagged string' error message

    ewenjc

I'm trying to help a friend import his iPhoto library into Lightroom and it's failing with the following message: 'Oops! An untagged string (?:0: attempt to index a nil value) got thrown far enough that we display it to the user. This shouldn't happen.'  It gave this error on his machine and just reproduced the same error on my setup.  The import is into a new empty catalog.

Anyone got any ideas on what might be causing this?

Any suggestions would be very welcome,

      -Ewen
