Could you please try to increase the cache size and check if it works better.
- Choose Lightroom > Preferences (Mac OS) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).
- Click the File Handling tab.
- In the Camera Raw Cache Settings area, experiment with a Maximum Size of 10.0 GB or more. Please let us know if it helps.RegardsSarika
I set the raw cache setting to 10.0 from 1.0 and it did not correct the problem. The clone and heal functions are inaccurate and slow, the program won't change from fit/fill screen/1:1 choices in upper left, the zoom function goes awry, the screen whites out momentarily when trying to do something. Am sad and frustrated. But thank you for the suggestion. Don't know what to do now.
Sounds like you have problems with either the hardware in your system or the OS.
First thing is what type of computer are you using, Mac or a Windows PC?
How long have you been using Lightroom and is this the first time you have had these or any problems with Lightroom?
Have you recently upgraded your computer to a new operating system? If yes which one?
Do you have any external drive connected? If yes please disconnect them and then try to use Lightroom.
Clone and heal are slow? Are you doing a lot of cloning/healing on inidividual photos? This is a known deficiency in Lightroom, you'd be better off doing the cloning or healing in Photoshop Elements or Photoshop.
