    Animation Error

    Team Castle Level 1

I've been trying to animate text in after effects, but every time I do, I get a "ReferenceError: Function. app.project.activeitem.selectedlayers[alayer].applyPresent is undefined" message.

Any tips that may help?adobe after effects error.JPG

What scripts are you using in your project?

            Where do I find that?

What about the Script UI folder?

What, exactly, are you doing when that error pops up? Can you make it show up consistently?

                  Szalam,

If I am supposed to have a Script UI folder, then it never made it to my hard drive from the download OR why I wouldn't have one. How do I get it / check it?

I was hoping the update last night with fix the issue, but no dice.

                  My process:

                  1) Open AE

                  2) Select "Composition" from the top bar

                  3) Select "New Composition"

                  4) Using standard settings: HDTV...1920x1080....29.97fps...

                  5) Select OK

                  6) Select Horizontal Text Tool

                  7) Type "TEST"

                  8) Select "Animation" from the top bar then "Browse Presets"

                  9) Select "Text" then "Animate In"

                  10) Click on "Center Sprial.ffx" to PREVIEW animation.

                  11) Double click on "Center Spiral.ffx" and I hear a "DING" from the computer and in the background the Script Error pops up.

                  12) I can make this error pop up every time I create something in AE.

                  Thank you,

                  Matthew

I meant the Script UI Panels folder (which I can see in your screenshot).

Instead of going through the "Browse Presets" option, try just going to the Effects and Presets panel and apply that preset there.
