First things first, to generate the app into the bin-release folder, are you selecting Project > Export Release Build?
And when you say "running the SWF from...", do you mean, you are opening the SWF as a local file in your file system and running it in the standalone player, are you opening the associated HTML wrapper as a file, or are you deploying it and then requesting it via HTTP?
What does not work? Do you get an error or warning, or does the app launch but content you expect to be loaded never loads?
Select from the FB menubar Project - Properties and then click on Flex Compiler and ensure --use-network=true if the app will accessed from the web, or --use-network=false if it will accessed from the local machine.
@danger, I am opening the swf from the flex IDE, or desktop on my flash player. Opening the html on a browser also works. This is only the case from the bin-debug folder. And yes, I did do project ->export release build.
@Greg, when I say it doesn't work, it means exactly what you thought. The app launches but the content won't load. I'm playing with the twitter api so I'm using htttp service.
I'm looking at the compiler options under properties windows and I don't know where to put the --use-network=true.
Is it in the text box for additional arguments?
Right now there is this: -locale en_US
- use-network=true|false the default value is true
can you specify the error message that you have when you open the html page
like [HTTP Error 404 - Not Found]
