    old cache???

    ultrus

      Hi anybody!

I have an issue with the After Effetcs cache after the update.

In general I have around 40 GB free space.

After updating there are about 10 gb left.

It seems that there is an old full cache anywhere.

But I either can't see nor delete it.

Is there any solution available to see/check/delete it?

      (Can't delete anything in Afx)

      cheers

      jörg

I don't understand your issue. Are you saying you have a hard drive with only 10 GB of free space? That's not good. An old computer rule of thumb is that you want about 20% of a hard drive to be free all the time.

What makes you say this is a cache issue? Is this just on a drive that you use for cache? What else is on the drive?

Could you explain your computer setup in a bit more detail?

ah no excuse me……… My system and programms are on a 120GB SSD.

So the 40 Gb are really "left space" after installing all the programms I need.
In a perfect world I have another SSD only for the cache – I know.
But I guess that is not the problem here.

I think it has to be a cache issue. I gave AE 30GB and it's always this up&down-thing while working.

After updating CC it's kind off I didn't delete the old cache and I have no possibiliy to delete it.

Another point. At the moment –while working with AE – it seems like AE is filling the cache – but I can't delete it either.

The button in the Prefs and in the menu-bar is greyed out……

You can go into the folder it's using for the cache and manually delete the files AE creates.

                THX Szalam.
                Maybe that's the only way.

                But it's a hidden folder I guess?!

                my path in AE
                /Users/DEF01/Library/Caches

(when I click from the Prefs in AE it's there)

But in OS there is no Library in DEF01.

Is there a tool to fix this? Don't want to break anything up here…

OSX hides the library folder by default. You'll need to Google to find out how to reveal it.

OK…… after futher working with AE and deleting a small cache……… it free'd all the other space, too.

And voila, there are the 40 gb again.

Though a big thanks for your help!

                    Thumbs up
