I would love the answer to that question also. My InDesign 2015 is constantly freezing and crashing. At least once or twice a day. Most times it will open to the last changes, but I just lost a whole document and 1/2 days work. Never had this problem with any other version and no answers from Adobe. Any thoughts?
I was on the phone with an Adobe tech this afternoon and he finally decided after a lot of looking that my user profile and InDesign did not like each other. He created a new user user and now I am operating under the new user name. That creates problems with email accounts and any other programs that are tied to the original user name. You have to transfer settings etc.I have about muddled my way through it and indesign is working normally.
Mine has been crashing constantly for the last several days as well. The "fix" that camelbreath described doesn't sound too great. I guess I can expect a lengthy tech support call and a lot of "housekeeping" tomorrow. I'm SOOO GLAD that we have to pay for this lovely subscription service now!
If it works in a new user account it should work in the old one, too. Start by replacing the prefs in the old account (see Replace Your Preferences). If that fails, rename the InDesign folder in each of the two Adobe folders in the paths listed, then copy each InDesign folder from the same locations in the other account and paste it into the original account.
