I would suggest you to first update Lightroom to the latest version , that is Lightroom 2015.3
Please update from the following link : Keeping Lightroom Up-to-Date
Also please try the following steps once updated :
- Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
- Please Go to the Preferences > Performance Tab, and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor "
- Restart Lightroom and see if it works.
Thanks for your quick response, Tanuj. I didn't realize that my Creative Cloud had disappeared from my banner and wasn't keeping me notified of pending updates. I'm updating now. Hopefully after that your preference revision will clear things up. I'll let you know.

The update fixed it. No need to reset preferences.
Wish I knew why Creative Cloud uninstalled itself!!!
