I believe the InDesign team is aware of this and is working on a fix.
i hope so because working with this bug is a real pain right now and i need to finish some stuff for customers :-(
Welcome to the "bleeding edge" of new technology! I don't think the Touch features didn't get much feedback during prerelease (since so few people had the required hardware).
Whew! I am glad I am not the only one having this issue. I thought I was loosing my mind. That darn board keeps coming up EVERY TIME I move the mouse. I hope they fix it quick.
Does anyone know if we can roll back to the version from yesterday until it gets fixed? If so, HOW?
Sorry to hear that you are facing such an issue with our latest update. We are aware of a similar issue and it would be great if you can help with the below queries.
Which Touch device are you using?
If the device your are using comes with a detachable keyboard, does the popping of keyboard happens irrespective of whether the keyboard is attached or not?
Is the visibility of the touch keyboard persistent or does it disappear once you have started typing in the text box.
Abhinav (InDesign Engineering Team)
thats the problem, i do not use a touch device. I am using windows 10 on a normal pc. The only thing that had a touch and was installed on the pc some time ago is a wacom bamboo pad. But this is currently not attached to the pc.
The Touch Keyboard is going away once i start typing (thanks for the hint, did not check this last time).
The whole problem is appearing with a normal keyboard attached to the pc. I did not remove it for ages.
I hope this will help tracking down the problem.
Nice to hear that the on-screen keyboard goes away and I hope your are able to use InDesign now.
As far as the issue goes, please share your email id in a message so that I can reach out to you if additional information is required.
yes, i can work with it, even if it is anoying this way. Hope you find a way to fix this soon.
Any news about this bug? Still anoying!
I also use a touch enabled device (sony vaio flip). The keyboard is not detachable, I have disabled the touch workspace and use the advance one. I cannot get the touch keyboard to not appear. When I press on any text box the touch keyboard appears and I either have to start typing on the physical one to make it disappear, or I have to minimize it every time. I rolled back to a previous version via adobe CC and I wait for adobe to issue a fix about this ASAP.
Hello Adobe Team!
Are you still working on this? Still have to fight with this anoying bug and the workfolw is horrible right now. Would be nice to hear some news about this. For a paid software this is not a great way to work :-(
Weak performance, Adobe.
After long searching i found a solution to dectivate the touch keyboard completely by deactivating it inside services of windows.
This is the first time i have to do something like this.
Sorry Adobe, but this is bad, really bad!
I simply went back to the previous version via the adobe cc app.
There was no significant update other than the ui.
Yeah, thats another way to get rid of this stupid behavior.
But seriously adobe should fix this. It's not as if indesign is just a small fun-tool for some hobby-designer. And it is a little bit sad that it feels like they don't care about it.
We sincerely apologize for your troubles.
Please apply the latest update of ID (11.3) for the fix.
Thanks & Regards
