Which version of LR are you using?
Do you have write access to the card? Otherwise move is not possible.
Anyhow, using move is not a good idea anyway. You better use copy and then reformat (or delete) the card using the camera once you're sure everything is copied perfectly.
With a camera card, COPY and COPY AS DNG are the only options. Always has been this way in Lightroom.
You will only get the option to Copy,Copy as DNG to transfer your images.
Lightroom copies the photos to your hard drive and adds the links to the photos in the catalog.
The Add and Move import methods are not available when importing from a camera or camera card.

I always used delete after transfer using Nikon transfer, it never failed!
I believe the difference is that Nikon Transfer uses copy and then delete the imported folder....
