It depends upon your import settings.
It could be possible that you choose Copy at the time of import and the same set of images got copied to the destination that was selected.
Choose Previous Import under Catalog in the Library module which should display the last set of images that you imported > right click / command click on any image> choose Go to Folder/Finder in Library
That should take you to the folder that contain the selected image.
Thanks but it wasn't the last set of images I imported. Also I know where the files are, but LR shows them as duplicates. I guess I could uncheck the "don't import suspected duplicates" and import them, but it's 2800 files and I don't want to go there.
If Lightroom shows them as duplicates, it means that those set of images have already been imported in Lightroom.
You should try to do a search for those set of images in Lightroom.
Follow the below steps to search :
- Capture the file name of any one of those images
- Go to All Photographs in the library module in Lightroom.
- Go to View menu> show filter bar (if not already enabled)
- Select text > type in the filename in the search box > check if you are able to get the output with that image.
If it is there, it means that the images are already there.
Thanks I’ll give it a try.
