I've had Adobe Standard 9.5 for years. A week or so ago I fooled around with the accessibility functions in an effort to tag document for reading aloud. Unclear what precise steps I took but something has changed about the way text looks. Now all .pdfs are faded and unclear, as though there was a bad scan. I don't know how to do a "reset" or to undo what has been done. Any help would be very appreciated!
Just for reference - No version of Acrobat Standard has the ability to apply PDF tags (tagged PDF being what, via the structure tree, provides AT the means of "reading" PDF - note that this is not Read Out Loud which is the tool available in Reader and Acrobat for text to speech). To date only the Pro release of Acrobat provides the ability to "tag" PDF or to remediate tagged PDF.
I found the solution: >edit>preferences>page display = more pixels and use smoothing for laptop.
