I am using InDesign CC 2015 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013). This is the first time that I've not been able to export to PDF. I'm not only getting the apparently common (paraphrased) "can't save to PDF because of background tasks" message, but I also can't shut down InDesign or shut down my computer, which are 2 of the suggested fixes I've found. I get the same "background tasks" message. Please help! Also, earlier I was able to save this document to PDF (it's not large, only 2 pages), but all the hyperlinks I set up do not appear to work.
maybe my old script from 2010 is useful for you where I am using no background task to export to PDF, but the old "Export in Foreground" method still available in scripting like it was in InDesign CS4.
The code is here:
Thank you Uwe. I was finally able to shut down my laptop with a hard reset. Afterward I was able to export to PDF as I always have been. If I find I run into this same situation again I will try your suggestion.
