No. I tried Solution 1 (renaming folder) — result is the same.
I tried Solution 2 (manual download and install) — I get this error in log:
Adobe Character Animator - Preview 3 update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7
I haven't tried uninstalling so far. Maybe it might help, but I don't need this update so critical now to bother with reinstallation of the whole After Effects.
I'm assuming that if you try to update to Preview 3 via the Help > Updates menu command in Character Animator, it produces a similar error?
If you can send me (via direct message) the installation log for the attempted updated (look in the /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/ folder for a .log.gz file with Character Animator and the date the install was attempted in the file name), we can try to diagnose what might be causing the issue.
Just to confirm, are you currently using Preview 1 or Preview 2? You can find that preview version indicated in the menu bar.
If you are on Preview 2, did you previously successfully update from Preview 1, or was Preview 2 your first version installed?
