Audio quality on video file deteriorates by 1/2 when exported

I recently used Lightroom 5 to make some minor edits on some videos for the first time.  I simply adjusted the exposure and then exported.  The original file format was .MOV and the new file formate is MP4.  I'm very happy with the visual corrections that I was able to make, however the audio in the exported files was half the volume of the original files!  I exported the files at the highest quality possible.  Is there anything else that I could do to restore the audio quality in the export process?
