If the file is grayed out in the Import grid that means the file is already in LR somewhere and you cannot import it, again. Switch to the Library module and you should be able to find it by clicking down into LR’s folder structure that should mirror the hard-drive folder structure from some folder on down.

The best option is to take advantage of the Non-destructive Lightroom Editing.
See the history panel in Lightroom, You can get back to the original image in the history panel then can re-edit them
