We have recently changed production of our catalogue to Indesign CC from Quark. We have imported all content and master sheets, although these all look ok, we are having problems when moving pages within a document as the page footer text and numbering are not changing automatically. i.e. if a left is changed to a right page, it is still retaining the left page footer information. Is there a way to fix this aside from building a new document?
Folios would need to be on the master pages with current page number markers, and not overridden onto the document pages. Quark and ID treat master pages very differently, and it wouldn't surprise me if the folios not built correctly for ID, so I would be sorely tempted to recreate the numbering at the very least.
It's also good practice if converting a Quark file to run the conversion through IDML before going further. See Remove minor corruption by exporting
