I hope someone can help with this!
I am resizing images and exporting them for use on my website. I'm exporting them as 960 px wide by 280 px high. However, when they get to my website developer, the sizes have changed and are no longer what I sent them to her as. Why does this happen? I have tried several different methods of exporting- have checked the box "resize to fit" and have exported them on width and height (960wx280h), and have tried just using the long edge. Is there something in the develop module I should be doing/not doing? Is this an aspect ratio problem and if so how do I fix it? Thanks very much for your help.
You have to crop the photo first in Lightroom to an aspect ratio of 960x280 first, then export with the 960x280 specified in the Image Sizing portion of the export dialog box. Then you will get what you want.
Most likely this is an aspect ratio problem.
When you do the export, LR will make sure that your photo fits into the 960x280 "box". However, if your photo is not correctly cropped to that shape, the export will not stretch or reshape the image; just make it small enough to fit the 960x280 sizing with whatever margin is needed on the other side.
