Sounds like you have the problems with GIF "indexed" nature, and problems
with not using it correctly.
That is, GIF cannot have more than 256 colors. Besides, only one of these
256 colors may be marked as "fully transparent", and there is no
"partially transparent" colors.
However, to be more specific, we need more detail from you, I'm afraid.
