I tried creating a button and having the "Open File" action associated with the button, but that won't work because the exported PDF is something that needs to be opened by someone externally. I'm looking for a way to say "Click on the attached file for a sample" in my InDesign document and then have someone not on my same network be able to click on the link/button and open/download that file. Any tips?
Create a PDF file from the InDesign file. Create a link with an an Open File action within the PDF to open the Word document. Or just add an attachment to the PDF.
Thanks for the reply. I think that still presents the same issue. I want to be able to send the final PDF to someone and have them be able to open the attached file within the PDF no matter what network they are on. When I inserted the link into the PDF from Acrobat and sent it to myself to open on another computer, I got the same error as when I tried to go the button route because it is trying to open the file from the network on my first computer. I'm looking for a way to physically attach the file so it can be opened on any computer instead of linking it so it can only be opened on a computer that's on my same network.
