turns out now that i cant even use the program now because of this and i have projects to finish!! Please someone help!
you should have a look at Adobe's database, to see what's stored/saved about your accounts. Here you will find general infos about your Adobe Account
https://accounts.adobe.com/>>> see My productsView all >>> These registered products are associated with your Adobe ID. >>> Name >>> Serial number.
And to find your serial number have a look there http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html >>> I lost my serial number >> see comment.
The last time Adobe suggests so too this https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?step=ZNA_downloading-installing-setting-up_licensing- activation
... AND if you purchased your product from these firms like Amazon, you "only" get a redemption-code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. Please have a look at https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-your-serial-number.html >>> (Start here: Prepaid card, product box, reseller)
The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.
What version of Premiere Elements, and what computer operating system?
What is the exact message that you get after you hit the Validate button on the message that you get?
Please give background information to better understand your situation.....
a. Have you been using whatever Premiere Elements version that you have for a while and suddenly you go to open a new or old project and get hit with the message that you present in the screenshot
b. You have just obtained Premiere Elements and are trying to install it?
c. You had Premiere Elements installed, you uninstalled it for whatever reason, and are now trying to reinstall it?
Do you actually get a chance to insert your purchased serial number before you get a reject message from Validate?
Your message suggests to me that something in your system is preventing you from getting to Adobe Server(s). Does the problem exist with or without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
I cant find what version it is as im locked out the program. Its Premiere elements 14 if that helps.
Operating system is - WIN 7
The exact message i get after i hit the validate button is the one screen printed above but ill show in steps below.
Background: I have purchased and installed Premiere elements with serial code provided (not a redemption code). Since install i have been prompted with the "validate serial number" message but it had allowed me to continue and make projects, now 1 week later and i cannot open the program and i am just prompted with this message. I then have tried everything to try and get it validated including registering the product on my Adobe profile (screen printed above) which as failed. I now cannot open the program or existing products.
Please see the step by step of the message.
Also the firewall has been turned off to allow this through (not the best idea but clutching at straws here! still get the same message.
Thanks for the follow ups.
What about the antivirus? Is that disabled while you are trying to get Signed in?
Also please check out any entries in the hosts file beyond its default. And look at the renaming of the SLStore Folder.
For details on those two ideas, please refer to the following written for version 12 but may yet apply to 14.
You could go through the whole drill of
2. Free ccleaner run through (regular and registry cleaning parts) CCleaner - Free Download - Piriform
3. Reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
But, since you have Premiere Elements 14 and have only had the program a short time, consider getting online Adobe Chat involved. That does not prohibit us from continuing on this issue here.
Please consider. As your schedule permits, we will be watching for your progress.
I will have a chat as surely you shouldn't need to disable all the security system to get this to work?! To answer the question the antivirus was turned off as well. I'm going to uninstall and try again hopefully this solves the issue, if not i will proceed to the Adobe chat.
We will looking for your progress and outcome as your schedule permits.
Problem solved. It wasn't firewall related but DRIVER related. Im using Windows, enter C: drive > windows > drivers > etc > find HOST note pad, drag onto desktop, clear adobe.com activation entries (normally at the bottom) > save > drag back into the "etc" folder and re-launch application. Solved!
Thank you for sharing that great news "Problem solved". Great job following through on the troubleshooting. What worked for you relates to that link that I posted earlier in your thread. One of the steps in that link pointed to the host file and, in that instance, Premiere Elements 12 Sign In issue. Your outcome is good information for the Premiere Elements troubleshooting toolbox.
Best wishes moving forward in your Premiere Elements projects.
