I believe with No GPU you mean to say you have disable the use of GPU while using Lightroom so what happen if you have it enabled.
And could you please check the even logs and help us more about the error.
Please follow the below link to open event viewer to check the logs
If I attempt to enable the Use Graphics Processor checkbox, LR simply states that "graphics processor acceleration has been disabled due to errors". Looking at the system info detail, the check for opengl support is failed, and further down, GPU device is not available. This laptop is several years old.
As for the event viewer, there's not a ton of info there. Is there something specific I can provide to help troubleshoot?

A few weeks ago there were similar issues discussed on another Adobe forum.

1. Uninstall your current version of Lr 6.2.1 and install Lr 6.3.
2. Goto the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\ and find a DLL named 'video_toolkit.dll'.
3. Rename it to 'video_toolkit.dll.original".
4. Down load the 'video_toolkit.zip' from Yuhong's CC shared url link. Unzip it.
5. Copy the 'video_toolkit.dll' from the unzipped folder to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\.
6. Relaunch Lr 6.3 and see if the video problem persists.
comment good solution!

This fixed my video play problem on a win10 system with NVIDIA graphics / latest drivers. Thanks!
Unfortunately, that didn't work for my issue. Thanks for the tip, tho.
So, here's what I've discovered so far. 6.2 is what is breaking working with video for me. I've uninstalled LR, and subsequently installed each update. Crashes start with 6.2. So, I'll stick with 6.1.1 for the time being.
Do you have Quick Time player installed on your computer?
I installed it today, per some other forum post, but it did not help.
