Trouble Creating an AIR File with Dreamweaver CS4

I correctly followed all instructions for installing Adobe AIR and the Adobe AIR-Extension for Dreamweaver CS4. Also, Java Runtime Environment is installed, up-to-date and working fine.

Upon entering my AIR-App info in the "AIR Application Settings" (including my digital-signature) in Dreamweaver CS4, I click the "Create AIR File" button. When Dreamweaver attempts to create the AIR file, it gives me the following error (in a text file on my desktop):

      unexpected failure: null

      java.lang.NullPointerException
      at java.io.Reader.<init>(Unknown Source)
      at java.io.InputStreamReader.<init>(Unknown Source)

      at com.adobe.ucf.CodeSigner.readStringFromResource(CodeSigner.java:325)
      at com.adobe.ucf.CodeSigner.<init>(CodeSigner.java:81)
      at com.adobe.ucf.UCFOutputStream.setPrivateKey(UCFOutputStream.java:149)

      at com.adobe.air.ADT.run(ADT.java:101)
      at com.adobe.air.ADT.main(ADT.java:38)

However, when I tick the "Prepare an AIR Intermediate (AIRI) package" option in the digital-signature dialog, and THEN attempt to create the AIR file... the AIR file is created. Even though I don't know how to run it.
