    Update crashes on startup, -WIN7-

I'm a broke ************ and I've been facing constant problems with this software upon startup. Simply uninstalling then reinstalling won't do the trick this time. Yes, it crashes. "Looking online for the solution" doesn't do jack ****, as expected. Was using this software in split screen it was acting tricky with form(s) so I decided to update to see if that would solve the problem. Nope.

          Sorry for your troubles.

When you are finished ranting, could you kindly provide some useful information?

What version did you upgrade from/to?

When reinstalling, did you run the Cleaner Tool?

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Have you rebuilt your Cache, Preferences or Personal Configuration folders?

What do your Windows Event Logs tell you is causing the crash?

Does the software crash with all sites?

Does the software crash with all files?

As a test, can you create a new blank file and work with it?

...it was acting tricky with form(s) so I decided to update to see if that would solve the problem.

Did you check your code for errors?  If your code contains many errors that DW cannot reconcile, this can choke your software & cause it to become unresponsive.  Use the code validation tools below & fix reported errors.

I just don't understand why such a prestigious product is populated with so many errors for me. It's already hard enough for me to get any motivation to do anything.

              1. Tell me how to find that out and I can tell you. AFAIK adobe doesn't have many updates for it's apps so I'm assuming I've upgraded from the previous version.

              2. I was not aware of that page. However I did follow through with the instructions to no avail.

              3. I followed the instructions on that and in my configurations folder the file required to be deleted was MIA.

I'm trying all I can on my end and it still crashes on startup. Maybe this can help.

EDIT: All the other applications I have installed are in working order. Problem is only with DW.

Which version and build # of DW do you have?  You'll find it under Help > About Dreamweaver.

I followed the instructions on that and in my configurations folder the file required to be deleted was MIA.

To see hidden files & folders, you must turn on HIDDEN files & folders in your Win Explorer.

                To see Windows Event Logs:

Click on Win Start button Picture of the Start button.

In the Search box, type Event Viewer,

In the list of results, double-click Event Viewer.

Nancy, Dreamweaver INSTANTLY crashes on every startup. I am not able to click on help and tell you the version/build# that way.

When I checked, I had made sure that option was enabled.

Have a look at this solution Problems with launching Dreamweaver CC 2015

Looks like I unintentionally created some sort of problem here.

I had the CC application downloaded onto another drive, and Dreamweaver onto my main drive. Although this DID NOT effect my other applications; it caused only Dreamweaver to always crash on startup. I had attempted to uninstall CC from my other drive but the computer would not let me, so I completely wiped it out and freshly installed it onto my main drive. Problem eliminated after that.
