I have a .indd file created in InDesign CS5 that was sent to me. I have CS4 and know that I can't open this file. Normally I would have them export it to the proper file and resend it it to me, but the person who sent me that file no longer has access to CS5. Unfortunately the file was made in CS5 several years ago and their computer has since crashed thus them not having CS5 anymore. Is there a way for me to be able to open the file in CS4 at all? Thanks for any help.
You could get the 30 day free trial of the new InDesign version open the CS5 file save it as an IDML file. Then you will be able to open it in InDesign CS4. There may be issues such as fonts, reflow, images, but it will get you started!
Thank you Derek. I'm going to try that now and see how it turns out. Thanks for your help.
