When we export a book from Indesign to pdf, the computer or rather the gui slows down - the mouse cursor skips in slow motion around the screen.
This does not occur when we export a single file, only when exporting from the book pallet. The slowdown isn't affected by document sizes.
This makes it very difficult to multitask... exporting a 400 page book can take a long time and because of this problem the computer is effectively tied up.
We are using Indesign CC2015 on Windows 7 professional. All of the computers have a recent i5, 12GB, and SSD drives, so the system shouldn't be an issue.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Two years in this still is an issue. Are we seriously in the minority suffering from this (even though it happens on both of my systems – one Nvidia, one AMD) or why hasn't this been addressed yet?
Are you able to test this with InDesign CC (2018) release?
Does it happen with GPU Performance enabled/disabled? (can you try toggling this option on/off to see if it makes a difference?).
If it is still an issue, please send a detailed bug report to Adobe, and offer to supply the files (so the engineering team is able to replicate the issue and hopefully do something about performance issues).
