When i'm making a hybrid that refers to external files, i define a global variable called "delimiter" or similar, then use the code:
on prepareMovie me
if the platform contains "Win" then
delimiter = "/"
delimiter = ":"
Then use the filepath "the moviepath&"FOLDER"&delimiter&"file.extf"
Hope that helps
Or this will do the same thing, but it will save you a bit of typing:
delimiter=the last char of the moviePath
The last character of the moviePath will always be the correct delimiter
for the current platform.
Ok, Thanks a lot. I understand the global variable but have currently been trying to alter the fiepath in the cast member property inspector where it says filename. Even with the global variable however, it won't let me amand the filename. Am I looking in the right place?

hope this helps,
if linked media files are what you're talking about, then, along with the suggested gVar for the delimiter, add your custom paths to the global searchpath list. For example: you have a dir movie with linked videos resident in a special "MEDIA" folder located at the same level the .dir is, then put the following in your dir file:
