Could you please explain further about the issue?
If you are moving to Lightroom CC, it will automatically load your main catalog on the first launch.
Or, you can go to File menu > Open catalog > choose the catalog you want to load.
Lightroom keeps track of the last 10(?) or so catalogs you opened, just like most programs keep track of the last 10 documents you opened.
That said, I am not sure that is what you meant to ask.
Lightroom 6 and Lightroom CC are essentially the same program, and use the same catalog. The catalog can be opened by either version because the program code is the same. The only difference with Lightroom 6 is that some of the new features that were added are not available. Other than that, the programs are virtually the same.
Thanks for your response. I think you answered my question: I have LR 6.1.1 standalone. I will subscribe to CC and thus get Lightroom there. My concern is: how do I make sure that LRCC finds my existing catalogue. You said that it will automatically load it. If so, that is what I wanted to know.
Thanks for your response.

Yes, it will automatically load your default catalog.
You can make a note of the current location of your catalog by going to Catalog Settings under Lightroom 6.1.1 > General > location
Thank you Chetna.
Happy New Year
You don't need to do anything, LR does it automatically. (LR6 and LRcc are the same program, just different licensing models.)
LR by default will open the last catalog you used.
The last ten(?) are listed in the menu /file/open recent/ .
All catalogs are available manually by the menu /file/open/ .
Thank you, It’s clear to me now.
Happy New Year,
