    Lightroom version: CC 2015.3 [ 1052427 ] - zoom is pixelated

    brauhausdc

When I zoom in on a photo in the most recent version of lightroom, I'm not seeing the detail I used to be able to see in previous versions. Everything is coming up pixelated.

Has something changed between this release and the previous one?

          Hi brauhausdc,

Please check is you have Use graphics Processor cheked under Preferences>Performance

Also what is the zoom level you are viewing your images at?

          Regards

          Akash

I checked, and "Use Graphics Processor" is checked. Anything about zoom level 4 comes up looking pixelated. Photos I'm looking at are full frame raw coming off of a Canon 5dS. I'm looking at the same images I viewed prior to upgrading to the most recent version, and am not able to the same level of detail.

Try unchecking the Graphics, some systems have problems with it.....

              Is this on all files???

I've tried it with and without Graphics setting. And, yes, it appears on all the files at which I've looked.

Do you mean Zoom View 1:4 or 4:1? What model system and display are you using? The Retina displays can be set to do scaling. It may be set incorrectly.

I mean anything higher than Zoom of 4:1.

Yes it is the built in Retina display on my MBP. It is set to "scaled" and all the way to the right. I don't have any external monitors hooked up.

What seems odd here is that it is showing the same for both lower resolution pictures, taken with an older camera (Canon 5dII), as it is with the newer Canon 5dS. Things look ok when I'm < 4:1 zoom. At 4:1 I can start seeing pixelation. If I go to 8:1 or 11:1, the pixelation becomes very apparent.

Even with a Retina display when you go above 1:1 Zoom at some point you'll start to see the individual image pixels. On my 2560 x 1440 NEC PA272w monitor I can start to see slight pixelation at 2:1 Zoom and very noticeable at 4:1 Zoom. Sounds perfectly normal and has nothing to do with the camera's resolution.
