- Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
- Also please Go to the Preferences > Performance Tab, and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor "
- Restart Lightroom and see if it works.
Thank you for your advice Tanuj, I tried that and no change in the Lightroom images.
It seems an issue with the Graphic Card drivers, I would suggest you to please update the drivers from the Manufacturers website.
You have corrupt images.
In Windows viewer you are looking at an embedded JPG that appears OK.
In Lightroom you see the raw NEF and any corruption.
You most likely have a hardware fault- Camera, USB cable, Card Reader, failing Hard-drive.
Thanks for your help, worbertc. I was able to track down uncorrupted versions on a back up drive. I didn't know about the embedded jpg and the viewer threw me a curve on that score. I so appreciate your help.
Thanks for reply.
Now you have to track down the fault!
If it is a hard-drive problem that will only get more serious., so check it out- fast!
Thanks again, wrobertc. I'm pretty sure the fault was in a failing hard drive that I transferred the files from to my Drobo RAID. I found another copy on a healthy drive and it transferred just fine. This was my first pass through the files since moving them to the DROBO. Only a handful of files seem to be impacted.
