What model cameras are they?
Which operating system are you using?
Did you download the newest dng converter 9.3?
I'm using OS X El Capitan version 10.11.2
I dont know which models the cameras were. They were borrowed.
I didnt download the latest dng converter. I downloaded 6.7 because I read that that was compatible with photoshop cs5.
Should I download the 9.3?
You should download the latest version of the DNG Converter as it contains the latest RAW file support for newer cameras. Make sure, however, to use the preferences to specify which compatible version of Camera Raw you need. More here: Photoshop Help | Adobe Digital Negative Converter 9.x
Thanks! I downloaded the latest converter and it works now. I converted but I didnt set the preferences to 6.6 or later which is what I read is compatible with cs5 because it was before I got your message. The compatibility is set to 7.1 or later. However, it works and Cs5 is opening my files. Should I just leave it as is or redo the process changing the preferences?
Actually, leave it as is. The reason to change it depends on whether or not you need to convert for the broadest compatibility with earlier versions onward. e.g., Converting for 6.6 lets you open DNGs in CS5. (Oddly, 7.1 wasn't until CS6/CC, if I recall, but that may be because of your camera models. At least you know the setting is there in case you have problems.)
