Moving to InDesign EPUB forum
I think at this time only a single document can be made into a Fixed Layout EPUB file. The same is true for the Publish Online feature. There is no support for book files or alternate layouts.
You'd need to use Layout > Pages > Insert Pages command and combine the pages into one document.
In the fly-out menu if the book-panel you also have export book to ePub, just like for PDF. I used it to create a FXL ePub for my InDesign book abailable in Apple iBooks, no problem.
Thanks, Frans, you're correct. I use book files so little these days, it had been a while since I checked that menu.
However, I don't the the alternate layout feature would work.
According to what you said, it that true that there is no function in Indesign which would allow a particular alternative layout of multiple indesign book files to be exported into a single epub?
I had a large Indesign file that contains all the contents of a book, which I tried to export as fixed layout epub. However, it was impossible because it said the file was too big to export into a single fixed layout epub. It required me to break down the big Indesign file into multiple smaller Indesign files of different sections, in order to export into a single epub file? If this is the case, does that mean multiple Indesign files can be exported into a single epub? And is there any difference in the Indesign fuel size requirement between exporting into reflow able and fixed layout epub?
Thanks very much!
