I have just upgraded from LR5 to LR6 but when I go through the installation setup and come to input the serial number I get the following error "We cannot validate this version of Lightroom. Please contact customer support". Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how was it resolved?
Are you installing on the same computer where your LR 5 is already installed?
Are you working on Windows or Mac?
Where did you buy the LR6 upgrade? Did you get a update serial number?
Yes I am installing in the same computer, an iMac 27 and I bought the upgrade directly from Adobe. The serial number was emailed to me from Adobe shortly after the purchase. (Subsequently I have logged into my Adobe account and verified that the serial numbers tally and they do

On first installation, this should validate directly.
It's possible that the setup did not find your previous version, it usually asks for the serial of it then to check that you are eligible for an upgrade instead of the full version.
