Hi, I'm looking to replace my existing iMac with a new 5k 27" iMac. My library is about 600GB so its quite large. Can you recommend the specs of the machine I should buy in order of importance/benefit please? I want a smooth machine that is a pleasure to use. Afterall, Lightroom should be fun to use and not a headache... I want to do it right.
Thanks - however these are the minimum requirements from Adobe and I wanted to go based on what people have experienced.
I've been reading various reviews on the net and think the below might be the order of priority to focus on for someone working on lightroom with a large library (wanting internal storage only) and looking to buy a 27" iMac:
1. Fusion Drive - Most important factor
2. CPU Speed (i7 4GHz), second most important factor
3. RAM (16GB is enough.... goes to 32GB wont get you any real benefit)
4. GPU Memory (2GB M395 is fine if you dont do video, wont feel benefit going to 4GB)
However, I dont really know that the above is correct as some reviews are inconsistent etc.... Is this order of priority correct or does it need to be tweaked?
