What is the format of these audio files that you want to use in your Elements slideshow (version 7)?
What players do you have installed on your Windows 7 computer? Is the computer 32 or 64 bit?
Do you have at least the latest version of QuickTime 7 installed on this computer?
Where are you creating this slideshow - in the Organizer or in the Premiere Elements 7 Editor?
Are there any music files from iTunes involved?
Please give more details?
Thanks for responding. Slide show created in Organizer. I have two playback programs, Windows Media Player in which the file format is MPEG-4 and iTunes probably don't have latest update for QuickTime. I'll check, download latest and get back to you.
Latest Quicktime installed, but no change. when I click on "add sound" bar in PE Organizer I can navigate to the selection I want but when I try to open it Iget the error message.
Thanks for the follow up.
If this comes to converting your audio to the WAV version, we will consider the conversion with iTunes using the following how to.
This conversion can also be done in the free audio editor names Audacity.
If this comes to a missing codec issue, then we will go to download and install of codec utility named GSpot to determine
Audio Codec and Status.
But, first getting the latest version of QuickTime 7 on your computer with Premiere Elements is important. Also, what is the status of
the install of Windows Media Player on your computer?
I did not see your post 3 until after I posted my post 4 which may be delayed in appearance in your thread for a few minutes (it is a web site thing).
Let us get a description of your audio file (file extension and whatever you can find using GSpot). Is the file extension .mp3 or .wav now or something else?
AT: I think the problem is I need to have the music saved as a .wav file rather than MPEG-4. I'm reminded that we had that issue with a different application where we were unable to use mpeg files in a CD player and had to convert to .wav. I'm going to work on that to see if making that change will solve the problem and get back to you.
Thanks for the update.
If you need any supplemental information regarding the how to of the earlier suggested wav version, please do not hesitate to ask.
