I am looking to build a new editing computer, and I am looking for some information about how Premiere addresses / uses integrated graphics chips on the CPU (like the "HD Graphics" or "Iris Graphics" on intel chips). It's been recently brought to my attention that, although a robust graphics card does a lot in certain situations (some plug-ins, some video decoding, etc.) a lot of times my video card is only being used at 10-15%.
This makes me wonder if a CPU-based GPU is able to help premiere out at all? Does it help with H.264 decoding? Will it help with running the displays so that the GPU can do more heavy lifting? Anyone know anything here?
No, some times it is necessary to disable the Intel graphics.
