If I save a Word document as a PDF file, can the recipient edit the document in PDF? I'm asking because I regularly save Word documents (with text only) as PDF files, but I've always been told that unless I password protect before I send, the recipient could potentially edit without anyone noticing. Is that true?
Basically yes, it's true, but it depends on what application they're using and what kind of editing you're talking about.
Basically, what I'm sending is an invoice with an amount. Would it be possilble for the recipient to edit the amount in the document and save with the same name?
If they have Acrobat and you don't secure the file or digitally sign it, then yes.
