I am using Lightroom v 2015.3 and Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.2. When I go to the Map module and search for a location, the map switches to a black and white global view and displays the message "Map is Offline." If I click on a photo with embedded location information, it will show on the map, but every time I try to shift or expand/contract the map, Lightroom flashes the black and white view with the error message before redisplaying the map. Then the map stops responding at all: the rectangle in the upper left corner responds to my changes between flashes but the main view does not change. Essentially, the Map module is unusable on a Mac with the latest versions of all the software. Can Adobe please help? Thanks.
Not quite sure what might be causing this, but my first step would be to try uncheck use graphics processor from preferences - performance, and if that does not help reinstall Lightroom.
Hmm, it works fine on my Mac with all the latest updates. Are you behind a firewall?
Apparently the AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics card on my 2011 iMac is not supported by Lightroom. When I turned it off in the LR Preferences, the Map module worked as expected. Thanks rpandita!
